Book Launch Promotion Ideas
TikTok is for more than just the latest dance craze or viral challenge. There’s a community for almost everything people are interested in, and this is especially true for book lovers https://elmergernaleartworks.com/. #BookTok is a large, thriving community. Even brick-and-mortar stores often have a section devoted to books recommended on #BookTok. It’s the perfect place to promote your self-published book.
We accept books of all genres and categories. Our book PR and promotion services cater to authors interested in business book marketing, fiction book marketing (including novels), non-fiction marketing, children’s book marketing (e.g. picture books, early readers, etc.), self-help book marketing and more.
Watch popular videos from other authors and readers in your genre. Also, look for readers and Booktokers who have reviewed/shared videos about comparative titles. See what formats and tones they use. Get inspired and try to implement their strategies.
TikTok Book Promotion Ideas
I recently posted a video calling all authors to #StitchThis and tell the TikTok world about their book. Do it! There are lots of videos like this on TikTok where someone will ask you to stitch their video with your response. Watch for opportunities to do this.
You have to have a certain number of followers on TikTok in order to include a link in your bio. I don’t know what that number is because I’m not there yet, but once you have that, you have one link, so use it wisely. For example, you could set up a LinkTr.ee so viewers would click one link to get to a page with all of your relevant links. Or, set up a specific page on your website with all of the information/links you want your potential readers to have access to.
Try using TikTok for at least 10 minutes per day, scrolling through your FYP, liking various videos, and following other creators will help the app get to know you, so it can connect you to the kind of content you want to see, faster. The more you use it, the more you’ll understand the platform and it’ll understand you.
By “create a scene” on TikTok, I’m not suggesting you do something crazy, although sometimes that can work very well to build followers! What I really mean is: What is your book about? Where does it take place? Think about the ways you can show viewers the scenes from your book.
User Interactions: This includes accounts you follow, videos you like or share, videos you’ve saved, and even videos you’ve marked as “Not Interested.” Based on this information, the algorithm suggests other videos that it thinks you’ll enjoy.
Book Launch Promotion Ideas
Among the many book launch event ideas, virtual launches stand out for their versatility and cost-effectiveness. They allow you to tailor your presentation to different time zones, potentially hosting multiple sessions to accommodate a global readership. Additionally, virtual author events can be recorded and repurposed for future marketing efforts, extending the life of your launch and providing valuable content for ongoing promotion.
Of course, readers will see your cover before they ever open your book, so cover design is just as important as editing and layout (if not more so). Return to books similar to yours and think about how your cover might cater to readers’ expectations while still standing out.
Have you ever gone for a stroll around a pond and enjoyed looking around at the nature? If not, find a pond near you and give it a try. Now imagine a short page or two with some illustrations or photos set up about every 10 feet. With some inexpensive posts and a piece of extra wood or a clipboard, you can prop up pages of your story to give other pond visitors something fun to engage with as they enjoy the nature around them. This can work in parks, down public streets, or other areas that get foot traffic. Be sure you get permission to post your story, and make sure it’s appropriate for a general audience.
Successful marketing starts with the book itself, especially the information you attach when you publish. This info will include your book title, author name, and description, but also elements you may not have considered like searchable keywords and categories.
